10.00 Meet your friendly local guide in the hotel lobby and take in city’s landmarks.
10.30 Take your time to walk around Red Square, marvel at monumental Kremlin towers and fairy-tale looking St Basil’s Cathedral. Learn about Lenin’s Mausoleum, check out GUM and don’t forget to throw a coin over your shoulder for a good luck on a zero kilometer spot.
11.00 Walk along the cobblestone Nikolskaya Street, one of the oldest streets in Moscow. See Kazan Cathedral, the Moscow Mint, the Holy Synod Printing Offices, Russia’s first publishing house. Take a moment to stop at Neo-Baroque Lubyanka building, the former infamous KGB headquarters and hear amazing stories about Soviet secret police and its prominent prisoners.
11.30 Continue to Detskiy Mir, a renowned department store to get scenic views of central Moscow from the observation deck on its roof terrace and drop into a museum to see toys from the Soviet era. Take a walk back in time as you explore exquisite and opulent exteriors of the Bolshoi Theater.
12.00 Unveil the mysteries of Russian history wandering along the Stoleshnikov Lane. Enjoy the peculiar aura and unique atmosphere of Kuznetskiy Most and Kamergerskiy Lane where every house has a rich story. Next, stroll along flamboyant Tverskaya Street and try to imagine the tsars arriving from St Petersburg to stay at their Kremlin residence during the imperial period. Venture to Eliseevsky Emporium, timeless Moscow grocery store with its ornate, incredibly beautiful interiors and fine selection of gourmet foods.
12.30 Your tour will finish at Pushkin café. Enjoy the luxury atmosphere of Russian aristocratic mansion with its noble interiors dotted with antiques and ancient books as you indulge in rich breakfast or lunch and converse with your local guide.
The breakfast includes one of these items: mini cheese pancakes with raspberry sauce; or pancakes with cottage cheese; or omelet with ham and cheese. You will also have a croissant of your choice (with orange, vanilla or curd cheese) and a drink (orange juice, green or black tea, or coffee (Americano, Cappuccino, Latte).
If you opt for a tour option with lunch, pleasure your palate with regional specialties at 3-course lunch with a glass of wine. Lunch includes salads and cold appetizers (one item per person): millet pancakes, vegetable salad, meat jelly, olivie style salad, green leaves salads; soups (fish soup, shchi, rassolnik); and the main course (baked cod and vegetables, duck leg, chebureki, beef-stroganoff style black dumplings, or zrazy veal and chicken cutlet). Enjoy a glass of wine and conclude your lunch with a cup of some fine tea or coffee.
