Description
After early morning pickup at selected Tokyo hotels or the designated meeting location (depending on the tour option you select), transfer to Tokyo Station where you catch the bullet train (Shinkansen) to Kyoto. As you look out of the train window on a clear day, catch sight of revered Mt Fuji. After a 2-hour journey, arrive at mid-day to Kyoto Station where your local guide welcomes you.

Enjoy a Western-style lunch at the New Miyako Hotel before beginning your afternoon city tour in Kyoto. After your meal, travel by comfortable coach to the spectacular Heian-jingu Shrine, a Shinto structure built in 1895 to commemorate the 1,100 year anniversary of the founding of Kyoto. The shrine's design reproduced the architecture of an Emperor’s palace from an earlier era. Outside, walk through the lush gardens next to a large pond.

Next, travel to Sanjusangen-do Temple and marvel at its long wooden structure. Walk inside and be amazed by the main deity of the temple, the Thousand Armed Kannon, who is flanked by 1,000 life-size Buddhist statues that date to the 12th and 13th centuries. Listen as your guide explains the history and significance of the stunning temple.

Afterward, head to the hills for great views over Kyoto and a visit to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a temple with several magnificent buildings, situated on a hilltop. Hear from your guide about the amazing construction of the temple, which doesn't use any nails. Note the Otowa spring that flows under the temple’s main hall; legend says that anyone who sips its waters will be granted a wish.

After a full afternoon of sightseeing in Kyoto, your guide brings you to the train station in the evening for your return to Tokyo on the bullet train.

This tour was fantastic very well organised all attending staff were very efficient and friendly the scenery and Bullet Train a wonderful experience we chose to travel in first class service it was excellent - although a long day it was totally worth it the scenery was amazing we will be returning to Tokyo and will do another trip with Viator.

Highly recommend. The bullet train ride was amazing. The trip was very well coordinated with guides to help us from hotel pickup to drop off.

Perfect for people who don’t want to think where to go, met tour assistant who held our hand until we got on the bullet train and sat in our seats. The Kyoto guides were less hands on. Lastly, wanted to see Fushimi-Ku and the guide suggested when we can abandon the tour, best experience ever!

This was the exact trip I wanted to do to Kyoto since I didn't have much time off in Tokyo. To be clear, it is a very quick, fast paced tour of 3 sites in Kyoto plus a ride on the bullet train. It is a long day and the tour does not spend much time at each site. At the last site, there is a ton of shopping and you will have 30-45 minutes to browse around. Our guide KC was knowledgeable and spoke English very well.

A hectic, but efficient way to see Kyoto in one day for those staying in Tokyo who cannot spend a night in Kyoto. The tour covers 3 out of the 20 or so major shrines and temples one Shinto shrine and two Buddhist temples to be accurate. Gives a taste for this special place. Felt a bit rushed in the end left the last temple at 5:00 to get back to the railway station at 5:15, train back to Tokyo wasn't until 6:45 pm.

Gran tour , muy costoso como todo en Japón , el tren bala formidable , aunque en Kioto deberían aprovechar más el tiempo , ya que el tiempo del almuerzo fue excesivo y también de visitó un templo el primero que no fue nada del otro mundo

Bullet train ride was excellent as we had a great view of mt.fuji on our way, although it was a bit cramped up tour to explore Kyoto, the tour guide did extremely well to keep us entertained.

Excellent organisation from the staff. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very easy going. My only complaint which is more a suggestion is to include more places to the itinerary. We only visited 3 places which were magnificent but there are many others in Kyoto that also deserve a visit.

A long trip by bullet train to see a couple of temples. And I didnt see what I wanted to see

Tour organization was very good but the tour itself was just average. Lots of driving, limited information, zero enthusiasm... suggest to look for a better provider of similar tours.
