The Bullet Train is an experience worth trying. You won't believe how fast the country side blurs past your window! If it's an option for you, I highly recommend selecting the 1st class ticket. 2nd class seemed fine - but was sold out - which means you were shoulder-to-shoulder with other passengers, similar to coach seats on a plane. But 1st class was practically empty. I was seated at a 4-seat banket with a little table in the middle. And I was the only one - so I got all four seats and the table to myself! Arriving in Kyoto, we were quickly ushered onto a tour bus and taken to three temples - each more beautiful and inspirational than the last. If I had more time, I would have loved to spend several days in Kyoto. There are dozens of temples, and we only had time to see three. This tour is fast-paced and you walk A LOT. Not including time spend on trains, my Fit Bit recorded about 7 miles of walking and 12 stories of stairs.
Love it, it was amazing and someone from the company was with us alwaya
Excelent trip... Higly recommended... In fact you should take more than one day... Kyoto is amazing... Temples, the food, the experience, everything is great
This tour was fantastic very well organised all attending staff were very efficient and friendly the scenery and Bullet Train a wonderful experience we chose to travel in first class service it was excellent - although a long day it was totally worth it the scenery was amazing we will be returning to Tokyo and will do another trip with Viator.
Highly recommend. The bullet train ride was amazing. The trip was very well coordinated with guides to help us from hotel pickup to drop off.
Perfect for people who don’t want to think where to go, met tour assistant who held our hand until we got on the bullet train and sat in our seats. The Kyoto guides were less hands on. Lastly, wanted to see Fushimi-Ku and the guide suggested when we can abandon the tour, best experience ever!
This was the exact trip I wanted to do to Kyoto since I didn't have much time off in Tokyo. To be clear, it is a very quick, fast paced tour of 3 sites in Kyoto plus a ride on the bullet train. It is a long day and the tour does not spend much time at each site. At the last site, there is a ton of shopping and you will have 30-45 minutes to browse around. Our guide KC was knowledgeable and spoke English very well.
It was a great experience travelling in a Shinkansen. And especially if you are a first time or lone traveller. However, as the Travel is quite long, the tour in Kyoto was really compressed and you only have ample time to go around. Rain during my trip made it even more difficult but the experience is memorable and enjoyable.
Bullet train ride was excellent as we had a great view of mt.fuji on our way, although it was a bit cramped up tour to explore Kyoto, the tour guide did extremely well to keep us entertained.
A long trip by bullet train to see a couple of temples. And I didnt see what I wanted to see
