I purchased the budget independent rail tour with metro day pass and it was the perfect way to visit Paris for a day from London. The cost of the Eurostar tickets were less than purchasing directly through Eurostar. The tour company met us the morning of departure and provided an envelope with our train tickets, day pass for the metro, Paris map, and guide to checking in and traveling on the Eurostar. The guide was very informative as she explained the check in, security, immigration processes both ways. This was much more than I had expected from an independent tour. Really good service.
We chose to see Paris without a tour guide because we wanted to roam around at leisure. It was so easy!!! Firstly, by joining a group to meet at Eurostar London we were guaranteed seats with like-minded travellers. The train was SO comfortable. We arrived at Gare du Nord and jumped on a hop on hop off bus there are 3 different routes immediately outside the station on arrival. Throughout the day we saw all the main sights for 33 euro bus ticket. It was WONDERFUL and stress free and we spent as long as we liked looking at the sights we chose not ones we didn't. Remember to take your passport and be prepared for security checks similar to man airports.
This provided an easy way to get from London to Paris in a short period of time.

Having these train tickets with an open schedule during the day was very convenient for our trip.We met in the morning to receive our train tickets and also received guidance on where to go, what to do, and how to get more information. Everything was easy and went smoothly, and our contact was kind and informative.
Of much more importance, however... our evening return tickets were stolen while in Paris PANIC!. I was able to get a customer service person on the phone very quickly, and within less then 15 minutes he had reached our morning contact, who had then reached back out to me. When I answered her call, her first question was Are you okay?! She asked if we were alright, and then asked if we still had our passports - before anything else. THAT is what sticks in my mind. She was worried about myself and my traveling companions as PEOPLE and not just as customers, and it was incredibly appreciated during our hectic day. Within another few minutes she had reached the train company, provided me a new confirmation number and details, and we were able to have new tickets printed at the station prior to our departure. In less than a half hour, EVERYTHING was fixed in a calm, kind, and very professional manner. I cannot say enough good things about this service. THANK YOU!
Booked this package as it was cheaper at the time then booking through Eurostar. WIsh we had asked more questions of the person who met us at Kings Cross to give us our tickets. Also it is good to be on time as it took us a while to get through customs and security. We took advantage of the metro pass. However, we did not know that Gare Du Nord was under construction. So finding the correct metro line was a bit a tricky and not too many people spoke English. Also be advised that you have to pay to use the restrooms at Gare Du Nord upon returning and once checked in to our return to train to London the restrooms were free. Once we figured out the metro we had smooth sailing.
The train was not very well air-conditioned and due to a rail switch problem, we were stalled on the train for several hours.
This tour was amazing!
All in all it was great until we are told that we need to make sure we get on the 9:01 PM train from our guide and then realize that our guide gave us incorrect information and we needed to be on the earlier train. We had to pay 40 euros each of our tickets to make the change and when we tried to call the emergency number multiple times no one answered. The start of the trip was great but really felt like this travel agency did not follow through when we needed them.
Horrible experience. Had a day tour to Paris with Eurostar from London to Paris. Showed up early at the train station and Viator rep was late. Then Viator rep was missing one of my tickets. Viator rep was completely lost and had no idea what she was doing. With 5 minutes for gate to close, Viator rep simply said, I'm sorry we missed a ticket and there's nothing we can do. VERY unprofessional!! She didn't even try to solve the problem. Needless to say one of Viator's competitors was around and was able to provide us 2 free tickets to board the train. If it wasn't for this tour company, we would have missed the train and lost our money. Will NOT be booking through Viator again!!! Such a horrible experience and needless to say embarrassing to my spouse which was their anniversary gift.
