We reserved our transfer and glad that we did. After a very long flight is was nice to arrive and be greeted as advertised. Our driver was right where we were told to meet him. He collected all our luggage, took us to the waiting van and drove straight to the hotel. Very pleasant experience. Highly recommend, and will use this service again.
Driver was helpful and careful throughout the journey.
Even assisted us in our luggage which are heavy and bulky. Thanks
The driver was right there in the arrivals area as promised, and provided a safe comfortable ride to my hotel in London.
Pick up easy, driver very friendly asked about our trip, told us to have a good time in London. traffic heavy but trip was quick as possible
We were happy with our driver for our London pick up at Heathrow! He was there on time and was helpful with the bags. Our apartment was on a main street where you cannot pull over, so he parked the street right before and helped us bring all the bags to the front door! Highly recommend!
Polite Driver, on time ,but drove a bit too fast and aggressive. We have used this service before and it has always been a good experience and convenient.
driver was not there when we came out to the arrival area. Had to call their office to track him.
Car also had a strong cigarette scent which had my 2 sons complaining the whole trip
The gentleman who came to pick us was busy on the phone and too busy to even acknowledge when we waved at him.
He signaled us to follow him (still on phone) and went into the lift without waiting for us. We could not enter the lift as we had bags and the lift got full quickly. He came out shouting at us ' why are you not following me'. He was then stomping about until the next lift came - still on the phone.
Once we reached the car, the boot was full of personal gear which he spent 5 minutes clearing, before he dumped our bags inside. The phone call was over by now but he was constantly mumbling, clearly unhappy.
Shocking and absolutely rude service - what a horrible arrival. No company should hire such terrible representatives. I booked this due to my general good experience with viator bookings, regretted later.
On way back, we simply took a black cab - much easier, spacious (2 suitcases) and very similar costs.
The driver was 40 minutes late. I found another driver from the same company who was very kind and helpful. He said my driver was at the airport but in the men's room period when my driver finally appeared he did not offer to take my luggage. Additionally, he did not have the proper destination information that was confirmed in my original order. When I called the local company they said Viator had not provided the two addresses and that I would have to pay an additional 15 pounds to be driven around the corner. Three minutes walk but it was raining and I had luggage. The driver complained to me about parking at the address where I need to pick up keys, told me to hurry up and then dropped me off four blocks from my destination because he didn't know where the building was exactly and he didn't want to get in to traffic. This was at 11am. I walked up and down the street with luggage searching for the address. Not a great experience from Viator or their locally contracted driving service charging $100!
Used Viator to book "Private London Arrival Transfer - Airport to Hotel." The provider was City Transfers. When I booked the transfer, the Viator site did not ask for a luggage count, just the incomming flight information. I specified in the comment section that I would have 3 pieces of checked luggage and 2 pieces of carry-on luggage, so that the transportation vehicle to be provided could accomodate our luggage. The reservation was processed and a Viator Confirmation and Voucher were provided.
Upon arrival at Heathrow, no one was there from City Transfers to meet me. I called them and asked where they were. After taking more than 5 minutes to locate my reservation, the City representative said that they would not provide the service because my luggage count (as I noted in the comment section when I made the reservation) exceeded their requirements. I was further informed that since City Transfers had not confirmed the reservation directly with me, I should have known that they would not be there. As such, they said I had to find my own way from the airport to the hotel. Ended up taking a taxi.
Upon returning from my trip, I found that Viator had charged my credit card, but did not provide a refund due to the service not being provided. I contacted Viator and a refund was processed.
I have used Viator extensively to book trips and have recommended the site to family and friends. I've had only great experiences until this episode. In all of these past bookings, the service provider has never contacted me to confirm or discuss the reservation.
I am disappointed that Viator does business with this company and that a refund was only processed when i contacted them about the lack of service.
