Our bus driver,George, was excellent. He was early to our pick up point once at Windsor we were placed in a perfect location to see the parade band/guards for the changing of the guards at the castle. Getting our tickets was easy and then we were on our way to enjoy the castle and St. George’s Chapel. Time allotted was just right and we were returned to our original pick up point.
Passed the long lines which was well worth it! Going on your own made it more relaxing and we were given more than enough time to tour the castle and see the changing of the guards.
Tour is self guided with head phones which are very easy to use. I was extremely pleased to see as many rooms as I didn’t expect so many open for public viewing. My favorite is the Chapel, and not because of weddings but the history and burial chambers. My advice for August—try to avoid the holidays and the eeeks before start of school or else you will wait in a long line even though you have a pre arranged tour with tickets. Our wait was1 1/2 hours, but once you get in there is no line. It was definitely worth it though.
Really good day out. Can’t control the weather or the crowds. Had to queue except for that all good. The castle was magnificent and the walk around the town was interesting. Good trip back to Earl’s Court which was near where we were staying. Meeting place instructions were spot on. Thanks.
Loved sightseeing at Windsor Castle! The bus was late for pick up so the tour company gave us an extra hour. Only problem was that we missed the changing of the guards which was disappointing. Could have used more time to explore Wiindsor and surrounding area.
This isn't so much of a "tour" as it is a shuttle service to and from Windsor Castle. But, it's totally worth the money - it's an easy site to navigate through the audio tour free on-site. I would highly recommend this tour.
We had just over 2 hours on the season shoulder so adequate time to visit the State Rooms and St George cathedral with audio included. Bus takes you to train station and guide to entry. Bus trip back to London. Definitely takes the angst out of getting there yourself.
The ticket entrance to the Windsor castle was supposed to be pre booked and printed upfront by the agent. We wasted 45 minutes queuing like others who did not have pre booked tickets. A waste of time.
I was a little disappointed because you only get two hours in Windsor. The title should be two hour windsor trip
2 hrs is hardly 'Half Day'--arrived at 11am, back to bus at 13:15. tour guide was 15 min late to start trip, so we got to Windsor too late to see guards parade. Not the Guide's fault that Queen Mary's Doll House was closed, and that was very disappointing.
