This tour will take you through some of the most atmospheric alleyways of London as you walk through the winding streets in and around Fleet Street and Temple. There is so much to see in this area if you know where to look, but you'll be grateful for your guide who will show you historical remains and forgotten corners which serve as a reminder to a very surprising and fascinating past.
Prepare to be amazed by the pool where Charles Dickens 'took many a cold plunge', terrified by the Sweeney Todd, demon barber of Fleet Street, and fall in love once more at the 'wedding cake church'. After a mesmerising walk, you'll finish up at the quite beautiful ancient home of the Knights Templar.
Suitable for families, couples, intrepid explorers and people who have an inquisitive mind and keen interest in looking further than your average tourist.
this was a great tour - easy walking not taxing in any way.
This was an excellent tour and we loved all the places we saw and all the facts that we learnt about the hidden parts of the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her and the tour.
Very friendly, professional and fun tour guide Danielle. Really interesting itinerary. We are Londoners but visited some places on this trip we didn't know existed. Really got the most out of a small geographic area, albeit a highly historic one. Great mix of facts and anecdotes which hit the spot for us. Thank you. Wouldn't hesitate to book again with this company.
excellent fact finding tour about historic London in an area which is overlooked, but has much to offer.
This tour was amazing!
Great tour, and a great guide
We enjoyed this tour. Learned a lot of historical tid bits and folk lore legends that we didn't know. Matt was a really good guide and we recommend this tour if you like a little something off the beaten track. If we ever go back we'd try another one of his tours.
Angus was a well informed and an enthusiastic tour guide. We were impressed with his knowledge and he was very happy to answer our questions. It was great to wander through the back streets as well as learn some London history. We would highly recommend this tour for the person who wants a taste of history and to learn some little known facts.
