Explore Hampstead Heath with a local resident. Your private tour of the neighbourhood of Hampstead is a highly desirable location for Londoners to live where a few local celebrities also reside. You might even spot a famous local resident going for a walk! We will first meet in the village of Hampstead and have a short walk including a visit to the house of John Keats, a Romantic poet who had also met his poet friends Shelley and Coleridge on Hampstead Heath. Continuing our walk into the Heath, we can see the skyline of London from the highest hill, and then visit Kenwood House, a 17th century manor with a gallery of internationally important paintings from the Old Masters such as Vermeer, Rembrandt, van Dyck, Gainsborough and Reynolds. Here we will also stop for some cream tea in the lovely garden. Some parts of the walk will be on wild paths. There is an option to swim in an open natural pond on the Heath at the end of the walk. We will end the tour near an award-winning gastropub for a pint of beer and famous triple-cooked chips. As your guide, I will customise the walking pace to your needs. I am learning about wild herbs, health and well being, and can share my knowledge of herbs and trees on the walk, and tai-chi breathing techiques for ease of walking.
